3 Family Planning Options That Your Healthcare Provider May Recommend For You

Health & Medical Blog

When it comes to planning your family, there are a lot of decisions to make. How many kids do you want? How far apart do you want them to be? There are also other factors that come into play, such as what type of family planning method will work the best for you in terms of spacing out your children where you would like them to be?

Thankfully, there are a variety of options that your healthcare provide can recommend for you when it comes to family planning, and spacing out your children. This article will discuss 3 of these options:

Birth Control

If you want to hold off on having kids for a while, then birth control is an excellent option. There are several different types of birth control to choose from, and you can find a birth control with the correct amount of hormones that works for you.

You can take birth control pills that you will need to take orally each day. You can also have a birth control implant that is put in your arm to prevent pregnancy or an IUD (intrauterine device) that is put in your uterus to prevent pregnancy.

The last two methods are great because you don't have to remember to take a pill each day, which can sometimes be hard to remember. You can discuss these options with your healthcare provider, and they will help you determine which one works best for you.

Condoms

If you do not like the way that birth control makes you feel, then you can go ahead and use condoms. Your healthcare provider will be sure to explain to you all of the side effects that come along with birth control, and you can either try out a form of birth control and see if it works for you, or you can avoid it altogether and just opt to use condoms. You will need to remember that condoms are only effective if they are used correctly, and are used each time that you and your partner have sexual intercourse.

Tubal Ligation

If you are completely done having children, either because you feel your family is complete or for medical reasons, then your doctor may recommend a tubal ligation. A tubal ligation is a great option because you will no longer get pregnant, so you don't have to worry about using any form of birth control. When you have a tubal ligation your fallopian tubes are tied closed so that the ovaries are no longer connected to the uterus.

Seniors Deserve the Best

Seniors are like any other specialized group of people. They need services specific to their needs. Everything from nutrition to housekeeping to travel is different for seniors, and the services they receive should reflect that. I am a mental health care provider, and I work exclusively with people over the age of 65. My goal is to help educate the general population about the special needs of seniors and to inspire people to make their homes, businesses and lives more acceptable to the older generations. Seniors deserve our care and attention, and I hope that I can show others how to provide it.
